• One Bad Apple

Compounding pharmacies are in the news again.  Unlike the superior quality pharmacies affiliated with the Sklar Center, the New England Pharmacy is an extreme bad apple in the compounding pharmacy world.  This pharmacy has reached a settlement in the case involving 60+ deaths and illnesses in hundreds of people, which puts them front and center again.  This pharmacy was negligently run and ignored safety standards completely.  Dr. Sklar has personally visited Pharmco Pharmacy in Torrance and University Compounding Pharmacy in San Diego.  These pharmacies have the highest standards.  They are spotlessly clean and put their products through multiple rounds of testing before releasing them to the patient.

It is important to understand the details when you read about compounding pharmacies in the news.  There is a tendency by the conventional medical establishment to criticize the use of compounded pharmaceuticals.   This comes from physicians’ lack of knowledge and doubts about alternative medicine. It is also fueled by fears of lost profits from big pharma.  The best thing you can do – find a trustworthy doctor who can recommend a high quality compounding pharmacy.
