• What's Really In Your Sunscreen

Here is a great blog from the Environmental Working Group on sunscreen:

Two forms of active ingredients are common in sunscreens: mineral and chemical filters

Each can be potentially hazardous to your health.

The most common sunscreens contain chemical filters. Mineral sunscreens are titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide based.
Chemical filters are found to include a combination of two to six of these active ingredients: avobenzone, octisalate, homosalate, octinoxate, oxybenzone and octocrylene

There are a few sunscreens on the market which combine both chemical filters and zinc oxide.

Little did I know when I sent out my blog last week about taking a hip hop class for fun that there actually is scientific evidence about the value of dance in preventing cognitive decline.
