About Dr. Sklar

“This is the most exciting and satisfying part of my entire 40 year career in medicine.”

— Dr. Sklar

In 1971, I started my medical training at Boston University School of Medicine and from there, I did an internship at Boston City Hospital. My residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at the Beth Israel Hospital, a Harvard University teaching program.

I delivered babies and did gynecology for the first 8 years after completing residency training. Then my own two babies needed more of my time and attention, so I limited myself to doing only gynecology.

I became known in my community as the “go to” doctor for difficult to solve medical problem. Listening to the needs of my patients led me to develop My special areas of expertise in treating menopause and women’s sexual function problems.

I spent time learning everything I could about menopause treatment and traveling across the United States to work with the most prominent physicians treating men and women for sexual dysfunction problems.

As time progressed I felt the limitations of my training in helping people feel better. I had a huge moment of realization at the first anti-aging medicine conference I attended.

I began to understand that disease is not an accident. It is a process that starts years before before it becomes apparent. This process is where I am able to intervene to keep my patients, my family, and myself healthy.

The treatments I use enable me to help patients in ways I never thought possible. I am able to help men as well as women feel better while keeping them in the optimal state of health that will allow them to maintain healthy longevity and vitality for many years to come.

After learning about Anti-Aging and Restorative Medicine, I could see that my traditional Western medical training was limiting in many ways. To learn more about this field and become expert in it, I attended numerous educational conferences in bioidentical hormone treatment, treatment of adrenal fatigue, use of targeted amino acid therapy for brain health and I completed the five part Fellowship in Anti-Aging Medicine sponsored by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the largest and most prestigious Anti-Aging medical organization world-wide with 22,000 members representing 105 countries.
