The title of a recent Los Angeles Times front page article stated “Wider Use of Statin Drugs Urged.”
Statin drugs are medications used to lower cholesterol. This latest set of guidelines is couched in terms of reducing heart attacks and strokes. There are experts who developed these guidelines in conjunction with the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. It sounds like esteemed academics coming together in established institutions. What you don’t know is that they are all on the take. The esteemed academics pad their university salaries with speaking engagements and other activities paid for by pharmaceutical companies. Institutions like the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology can’t maintain their activities on dues alone. They receive large amounts of money from pharmaceutical companies. This creates an environment where big pharma calls the shots.
There is also a new cardiovascular risk calculator, easier than ever for doctors to use and with a lower threshold for recommending medication. This was developed as a way to help doctors get more patients on statin medications.
The ultimate goal of the pharmaceutical companies is to get everyone on the planet on a pharmaceutical that they have to take daily for the rest of their lives. This is called “compliance” by these companies.
Are they doing this to keep you healthy? No. They are only interested in one thing: Profits
Drug companies routinely overstate the benefits of pharmaceuticals and hide the risks and side effects. Statin side effects such as muscle weakness, as well as toxic breakdown of muscles, and hemorrhagic strokes have not been addressed and have been downplayed.
We know that ½ of the population does not benefit from Lipitor, the most commonly prescribed statin medication. Which ½ of the population? Women. Lipitor doesn’t do a thing to decrease heart attacks and deaths in women and it increases diabetes. Yet your doctors are pushing you to take it. They have bought in to the guidelines promoted by the drug companies via these “expert” panels.
The pharmaceutical companies have a plan for you. They don’t want you to die because then they couldn’t sell you anything. They don’t want you healthy because then they couldn’t sell you anything. They want you alive and sick or thinking you are sick so they can continue to sell medications to you.
Please be prepared to fight back when your doctor presents this to you. They will scare you into thinking you will get sick and die if you don’t take statins. Beware. You are the captain of you ship. Your decisions are the ones that will get you truly healthy.
We know that lifestyle, nutrition, exercise and eliminating toxin exposures are what will get us truly healthy. They do things that no pharmaceutical agent can.
