Just like your car needs periodic oil and filter changes, your body needs periodic detoxification to clear out the toxins that have accumulated in your system over the years. If you feel progressively sluggish, tired, achy and run down, maybe it’s time for your filter to be cleared. Not only is it good for your overall health but most people lose weight during the process — as much as 11 pounds lost in the course of a week-long simple detox program.
Think about it – we expose ourselves to potentially harmful substances every day. We apply them to our skin, we breath them and we ingest them. Within our lifetime we will consume between 30 and 50 tons of food. When that food contains the level of toxins we are seeing today, the burden placed on the liver to remove toxins is just too great and they have to go somewhere – the fat cells of your body.
Your liver is having to cope with artificial food additives, colors, flavors and preservatives. Your liver also has to handle the hormones and antibiotics used in meat and poultry as well as more prescription drugs and sugar than any time in history. That’s all in addition to the toxins you are breathing.
Until cleared out, those toxins remain in your body. Let’s say you live by a factory, pumping out fumes. You decide to move to a less polluted town without factories. Although you have now stopped getting external pollutants, the toxins you were exposed to from the previous town are still in your body. Imagine the build up over a lifetime. And imagine how that is gumming up the works.
A safe and simple detoxification is the answer. You can do something about reducing your toxic burden and seeing a clearer pathway to optimal health.
