Gluten free donuts at Dunkin Donuts!
I hope you don’t think this is a big health advance from Dunkin’
Donuts. A gluten free donut is no more healthy than a gluten
containing one. Both are loaded with refined flours, sugar and
unhealthy fats. These cause unhealthy inflammation that is at the
root of all chronic diseases like heart attacks, strokes, cancer and Alzheimer’s.
Eat healthy by reducing or eliminating all refined carbohydrates like
white flour, white sugar, and even gluten free flours like potato and tapioca flour. In their
place, add multicolored, organic vegetables, fish, berries. Deaths, like that of actor James Gandolfini, from cardiac arrest may be preventable with nutrition and lifestyle changes.
Join me on July 20 at the Long Beach Marriot Hotel for the Sklar Center’s Big Summer Event to get the real scoop on healthy aging. You will leave, empowered with steps you can take to feel better.
Here are 3 things you can do right now:
1. Take A Walk! You don’t have to spend hours each day at the gym, you can start with 5 minutes, increase to 15 then 30. Your body will thank you.
2. Prepare For Restful Sleep! Turn off all your electronics an hour before bedtime. Your body and mind require restful sleep for recovery and rejuvenation.
3. Reduce Toxin Exposure! Use ceramic or glass containers to microwave and be cautious of cling wraps. Look for products that state “no phthalates” or BPA free.
And remember, although Dunkin’ has jumped on the gluten free bandwagon, beware—it’s not good for you.
